New Income Tax in Nepal 2079/80 for Unmarried Individual

According to the latest Income Tax of Nepal 2079/80, if your yearly income is upto Rs. 5,00,000, you have to pay 1% of your income as a tax, which accounts for Rs. 5000.

For income ranging between Rs. 5,00,000 and Rs. 7,00,000 yearly, you have to pay 10% income tax in Nepal for the additional income above Rs. 5,00,000. Thus, the total maximum income tax becomes Rs. 5000 + 20,000 = Rs. 25,000.

If your yearly income ranges between Rs. 7,00,000 and Rs. 10,00,000 in Nepal, you have to pay 20% income tax in Nepal for the additional income above Rs. 7,00,000. Thus, your total maximum income tax in Nepal becomes Rs. 25,000 + 60,000 = Rs. 85,000.

If your yearly income ranges between Rs. 10,00,000 and Rs. 20,00,000 in Nepal, you have to pay 30% income tax in Nepal for the additional yearly income which is above Rs. 10,00,000. In this case, your total maximum income tax in Nepal becomes Rs. 85,000 + 300,000 = Rs. 3,85,000.

For others who earn more than Rs. 20,00,000 yearly, they have to pay income tax in Nepal at the rate of 36%, for additional income above Rs. 20,00,000. In this case, for example, if an individual whose earning is Rs 30,00,000 per annum will have to pay income tax of Rs 3,85,000 + 3,60,000 = Rs. 7,45,000.

For Annual Income up to Rs. 6,00,000, you have to pay 1 % income tax. Thus the maximum income tax in salary would be Rs. 6,000 only.

For Annual Income between Rs. 6,00,000 and Rs. 8,00,000, you have to pay 10 % income tax for that additional Rs. 2 lakh income which is above Rs. 6,00,000. Thus, the maximum income tax is Rs. 6,000 + 20,000 (for additional 2 lakh annual income) = Rs. 26,000.

For the annual income between Rs. 8,00,000 and Rs. 11,00,000, you have to pay 20 percent income tax for additional income which is above Rs. 8,00,000. Hence, the maximum annual income tax will be Rs. 26,000 + 60,000 (for additional 3 lakhs annual income) = Rs. 86,000.

If your annual Income is between Rs. 11,00,000 and Rs. 20,00,000, you have to pay 30% income tax for additional income which is above Rs. 11,00,000. Hence, the maximum annual income tax becomes Rs. 86,000 + 2,70,000 (for additional 11 lakhs anual income) = Rs. 3,56,000.
